Summary

Now in full color!

From the expeditions of the ancient world to the future of space exploration, the new Discovery and Exploration set details the wonders, anxieties, and achievements of explorers since the beginning of time. Starting with a vivid introductory chapter focusing on a key event, these books give firsthand accounts of traveling through uncharted territory, meeting and trading with locals, and bringing great power and wealth to competing world powers. Helpful features in each volume include full-color and black-and-white photographs and illustrations, detailed maps, sidebars, a glossary, a chronology and timeline, a list of further resources, and an index. A valuable resource for middle school students, this set makes a great companion to the new Great Explorers biography series.
