About the Author(s)

Paul J. Quirk is Phil Lind Chair in U.S. Politics and Representation at the University of British Columbia and received his Ph.D. from Harvard University. He has taught at several universities, most recently at the University of Illinois, and has been a research associate at the Brookings Institution. He is the author of several books, including Deliberative Choices: Debating Public Policy in Congress.

William Cunion received his Ph.D. in political science at the University of Illinois and is currently an associate professor at the University of Mount Union.
