Summary

Detailing their history, traditions, and culture, The History and Culture of Native Americans series tells the stories of the major Native American tribes from their own perspective, demonstrating each tribe's importance in the development of the United States. The titles in this new series describe their encounters and relations with other Native American nations and European settlers, military events, and those people who played an integral part in historical events. Each book culminates with a special focus on the 21st century and the current affairs that affect each tribe in the present day. Full-color and black-and-white photographs, maps, sidebars, a glossary, and other reference features make these narrative histories perfect for school libraries and general collections.
